If you heard an uproar of cheers and bells in the hallway last week, don’t worry! All the commotion was in celebration of Ms. Alfieri’s last chemotherapy treatment! Students and staff planned a surprise party for Ms. Alfieri and a very special one considering it was her last chemotherapy visit. In 2017, when Ms. Alfieri was about to enter her 13th year teaching at PPBHS, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite the setback, Ms. Alfieri continued teaching while undergoing rigorous treatments. There are no words that can describe how happy our staff and students are for Ms. Alfieri’s health and recovery! Speaking for all of PPBHS, Ms. Alfieri we are excited to see you so healthy and vibrant, and wish you the best of luck in the upcoming school years!

Ms. Alfieri commented,  “I really was surprised, but I’m not shocked by the support because of how close and loving our community is.”
