With the baseball season well underway, the Panthers recently received the 4th seed for the second straight year in the Ocean County Tournament (OCT).

The Panthers played host to Barnegat in the first round of the tournament on Saturday, May 4th. The Panthers won the game 3-2 and later learned they would face Toms River South in the quarter final round the next day. Due to rain, the game was postponed until Monday, May 6th at 7pm for a chance at the semifinal round for what some say would be the first time in 15+ years.

The game was very low scoring, but thanks to junior Nick Guzzi’s performance on the mound, the Panthers came out on top 2-0 and advanced to the semifinals.

They will face off against either 9th seeded Toms River East, or top seeded Jackson Memorial on Saturday afternoon (location TBD), with a trip to the finals on the line.

The Panthers are currently 13-4 for the season, and with two of those losses coming against Jackson Liberty, the Panthers hope to see them in the finals as they search for their first ever OCT title.
