Saturday, September 21st, 2019 was the 42nd annual Festival of the Sea & Craft Show in Point Pleasant Beach. Citizens from Point Pleasant Beach and other local towns gathered for a 9 hour day filled with delicious food and more.

“I think the Seafood Fest was a good thing. It brings the community together and helps out local businesses.”

— Billy McCrystal

The Seafood Fest stretched from the shopping mall between Route 35 South and North all the way down to the border of Point Pleasant Boro. Various businesses provided large crowds of hungry people with food, such as crab cakes, shrimp, lobster, soups, etc. The two main vendors for this event were Point Lobster and Shore Fresh, however, the festival also had smaller providers such as  The Lobster Shanty. The number of vendors at the Seafood Fest constantly increases every year.

This is a great time for smaller businesses to stand out and make a name for themselves amidst the other local businesses. Some of the employees working there were local high school students, including juniors Zach Hill, Colin Berg, Billy McCrystal and sophomore Giuseppi Johnson.  Billy McCrystal, a server and cook at the Seafood Festival said, “I think the Seafood Fest was a good thing.  It brings the community together and helps out local businesses.”

Music was played by various artists performing live which helped to create more of a positive environment. Overall, the Festival of the Sea is a hit every year, gathering everyone together to conclude the summer season.
