The Season of Giving
PPBHS gives back this holiday season by donating presents to St. Gregory’s Pantry.
Every year around the holiday season, the Point Pleasant Boro High school student council puts up the Giving Tree in front of the main office. For the Giving Tree, students and faculty members are encouraged to donate gifts to the children at St. Gregory’s Pantry so that they can help bring some cheer to the less fortunate families in the area.
Last week was the deadline for all of the Giving Tree donations after about a month of the tree being set up. This year, PPBHS managed to donate around 80 gifts to St. Gregory’s Pantry in total. Even though this amount is less than the amount donated previous years of PPBHS, it was still a successful effort to bring some happiness to the less fortunate. According to the Mrs. Salvatoriello, the high school student council advisor, “every little bit helps to put a smile on someone’s face”.
The Giving Tree has been a tradition in PPBHS for over 20 years and hopefully it will last for many more years to come. If you still want to donate this holiday season, you can go and drop off items and toys at St. Gregory’s Pantry in Point Pleasant Beach.
