Sharing a Little Love With Schroth School
On Thursday, February 14, the Point Pleasant Boro High School art club students went to The Schroth School in Ocean Township on a field trip. The Schroth School is a private school in Ocean Township that specializes in the education, support and therapy of students with Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities ranging from ages 4 to adult. At first, the field trip was going to involve the PPBHS art club assisting the students while they create the art project of the day. Instead of doing arts and crafts however, the Schroth School held a Valentine’s Day dance and the students of PPBHS had the opportunity to dance and interact with the students of Schroth.
After the field trip a senior art club member, Erin Ward, exclaimed that even though the day’s plans were not expected, “it was such an amazing experience to just make the kids smile and to be able to share a little love on Valentine’s Day!” Overall, the day was a blast both for the art club students and the wonderful students and staff of Schroth. The event included a lot of dancing, clapping, singing, whip cream, and of course a copious amount of smiles and laughter.
On the Schroth website it states that the LADACIN Network is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to provide care including social, educational and therapeutic support for infants, children, and adults with complex developmental and physical disabilities and enhance their quality of life.
