Point Boro High School students show their Panther pride by coming together to decorate the hallways and dressing up for spirit week. All of this school spirit leads up to reveal the two most anticipated questions: who is going to be crowned Homecoming king and queen? And can the PPBHS Football Team take it home for yet another win?

Last year when you walked our halls during spirit week, you took a trip through the decades. This year, we took a different spin on the Homecoming Week hallways. Our student council, along with advisor Miss Salvatoriello, decided on different habitats, allowing us to be in a different area of the world with each turn around the school.

The students took the time during lunch and learn and after school by working with their class advisors to put together the fantastic hallways. The Freshman were responsible for winter wonderland. The Sophomore class had under the sea. Junior class had tropical island and seniors did welcome to the jungle.

In addition to the fun hallways, another exciting aspect of Homecoming Week is spirit theme days! This gives students the opportunity to have some fun and dress in creative ways, coming together once again and showing some more Panther spirit. This year’s themes were: dress like a character or celebrity, dress to impress. arctic vs. tropical island, and then we closed the battle of the habitats with sea vs. jungle, leading up to Friday’s theme of black and gold!

That is what is so special about this week – it allows for students in all four grades to have a part in showing support for our school. Homecoming provides excitement in a positive way that brings our school community together as a whole: students, staff, and even alumni. Getting everyone in point pleasant pumped up for one of the most important Friday nights under the lights… the Homecoming Game! 

Last Friday night the Point Boro Football team thrived with a winning score of 56-0. Not only did Point Boro win but the Homecoming winners were announced during halftime. The new king and queen are…Joey Mazzaro and Ella Graul!
