Help Fight Hunger in Point Pleasant
Donate to the Student Council Food Drive
As asked by the website for the organization No Kid Hungry, “Did you know, two out of every five people struggling with hunger are children?”. Families in our own community are struggling with food insecurity, and many cannot afford to buy groceries to sustain their families.
The food drive is very important to these community members and can help tremendously. The food drive, for Students Change Hunger helps us provide food to these families in need. The last day to bring items in is January 10th, and the food can be dropped off in the main office or school counseling office.
The most needed foods include canned fruits and veggies, canned meat, canned beans and soup, cereal, whole grain pasta and rice, and peanut butter. For every $1 donation, 3 meals can be provided to those in need in our community. The Student Council will have boxes in the security booth/attendance booth area and outside the school counseling office. Glass items or expired foods cannot be collected, make sure items also have a printed expiration date.
Every donation matters and counts, providing a meal for a family.
