De-Stress Fest

Midterm exams are a very stressful period of time for students, and to do their very best and be successful in classes, they need good stress-relief outlets. Point Boro High School hosts the De-Stress Fest during midterms to help relieve exam anxiety and calm students down. Students will be able to stop at the school counseling office to de-stress with therapy dogs. The dogs will be available in the office from Monday, January 23th – Wednesday, January 25th, 9:30-10:10 am.

According to John Hopkins Medicine, “Research has shown that simply petting a dog lowers the stress hormone cortisol, while the social interaction between people and dogs actually increases levels of the feel-good hormone oxytocin.”

For students looking for a more hands-on, creative way to de-stress, they can head down to the media center which will be open for art therapy and studying until 10:10 am each day during midterms.

Point Boro High School is filled with kind adults who look out for students and take into consideration the heavy emotions leading up to testing. Therefore, the de-stress fest is the best way to calm your nerves and mentally help you prepare for upcoming exams.
