On Friday, September 22, 2023 our school started off the year strong with the annual “Be On Point Day” followed by a rumbling pep rally! We began the morning by rotating throughout the school with a welcome breakfast, arts and crafts, field day class activities, auditorium sessions, service projects, and character strong programs. After lunch, we went to the larger than life pep rally. We played games, chanted, cheered, and had a good time.
All the classes gathered at the Memorial Middle School gym for the pep rally. Seniors wore black, juniors wore white, sophomores wore gold, and the freshmen wore gray to get into the school spirit. The pep rally started off with games against grades! The first game was a relay race between the juniors and seniors. Whoever won from those games versed each other in the next round and so on. We followed that up with a game of ball toss. “Hungry Hungry Humans” was next up, which ended with staff taking over and broken basket pieces scattered across the floor. Hoop it up was next, with student vs. staff. The most laughed at game was blindfolded musical chairs: chairs were thrown, hair was messed up, and students were sat on.
At the end of the pep rally, to get into the school spirit mood for the game tonight, the crowd did PPBHS chants and the wave. Even the “spirit can” made an appearance to see what grade could get the loudest and show the most spirit. At the very end of the pep rally, Mr. Karcich gave a final hype speech to leave the crowd full of excitement.
If you missed this wonderful event, here is what a few teachers described as their favorite part of Be On Point Day:
Ms. Bergmann explained, “My favorite part of the day was seeing the spirit that all of our students had! The black, gold, white and gray that filled the hallways was amazing. It was even more evident at the pep rally when students were seated by grade level – I couldn’t stop smiling.”
Mr. Johnson added, “I was on the field all morning so I would say my favorite part of the day was the extremely high participation of students wearing their class colors. It was awesome to see the black, gold, white, and gray represented in each class respectively.”
Ms. Salvatoriello enjoyed, “seeing all the Panther pride at the pep rally to kick-off a Panther-ific start to the school year.”
Also, the administration shared their positive feedback, as well:
Mrs. Rohmeyer, Vice Principal, described, “My favorite part of Be On Point Day would have to be the pep rally! It was great to see the students run such fun, engaging events. Students and staff members were equally excited to be a part of such a great day that focused on Respect, Responsibility, and Pride!”
Mr. Karcich, Principal, commented, “My favorite part of the day was watching students actively engaged in a variety of activities. Students were ‘on point’ and also having fun!”
Mr. Kirk, Vice Principal, explained, “My favorite part of the day was the pep rally. It was a lot of fun watching and participating in the games. I loved how the day evolved around our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Pride.”
Students also shared their favorite parts of the day:
Gianna Delprete shared, “My favorite part of Be On Point Day would have to be watching the teachers do hungry hungry humans and watching Mr. Unger break his basket into pieces”
Abbey Gerdes replied, “The best part of Be On Point Day was being on the field with all my friends, taking a bunch of pictures, and having a good time.”
It is clear to see every teacher, administrator, and student was ON POINT for the Be On Point kickoff event!
