On October 23, 2023, K-pop group Seventeen broke the record for the most pre-ordered releases in K-pop history, surpassing 5.2 million pre-orders on Seventeeth Heaven their most recent album release. Seventeen Heaven is their 11th mini album following ‘FML’ released on April 24, 2023. Despite loving their previous work, supporters of Seventeen aren’t as thrilled when listening to the new album.
Although many people on social media, such as TikTok, Instagram, and X seem to love the album, people here at Point Boro High School weren’t too fond of it. “I think the album was great but I think they have better. I enjoyed their last album, much more, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the album and will be streaming,” senior Lexi Young shared.
On a similar note, Griffin Mattos mentioned, “songs weren’t too bad, but their previous albums hit harder. Nothing too special in this new album”.
Even though Seventeen has mixed reviews on their newest work, the group continues to chart on Billboard 200. Seventeenth Heaven is also believed to be the last album released before the group’s rumored tour and mandatory military enlistment.
Regardless, they continue to put their all into every work piece and it shows.
