“Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger!” Or should I say welcome back to Good Burger? I hope you’re excited, because Nickelodeon is bringing back the franchise with a second installment of the Good Burger movie.
For those who don’t know what the movie Good Burger is, it is one of those “so bad it’s good” movies. Don’t let that stop you from watching though. Even with its weird videos and corny humor, it still has that Nickelodeon golden age charm. Even with its faults, it’s still a good movie to watch.
Good Burger is about an employee named Ed who caused another character, named Dexter, to get into a car crash with his teacher. Dexter gets a job at the fast-food restaurant Good Burger to repay his teacher. Sadly, the new, and weirdly large, burger place across the street threatens to close down the restaurant for good. Their burgers are twice the size of the Good Burger burgers and somehow the same price (in my opinion, the burgers had too much meat for a regular burger. It just looked engorged like a tumor) The employees of Good Burger have to find a way to even the playing field before Good Burger gets closed and they all lose their jobs. After 26 years, a new film in the franchise is being made.
Dan Schneider will not be writing in Good Burger 2. Schneider left Nickelodeon on March 26, 2018. After many allegations of abuse and actors coming out to speak on the things Dan Schneider allegedly did, Nickelodeon offered him a $7 million payout for him to leave. In the new movie, all but one of the characters will be back, although, we will see a few new faces. In Good Burger 2, Comedy actor Pete Davidson and Nickelodeon actress Lori Beth Denberg are coming on as new characters for the new film.
In Good Burger 2, Ed is now the manager of Good Burger and rehires Dexter after having trouble running the restaurant by himself. Together the two men have to figure out how to get along to run this fast food joint before it’s too late.
The movie comes out on November 22 and will premiere on Paramount+ along with all the other Nickelodeon originals.
I don’t know about you, but I can barely wait.
