Stanley brand water bottles became very popular through TikTok and other social media platforms. What has made them very appealing was that they have many unique colors and designs compared to other tumblers. People were also surprised how well Stanleys kept their drinks hot or cold. When new colors came out. people would immediately buy them just to resell it for double the price. Even crazier is the fact that buyers would pay upwards of $100 for a cup.
Lately, people have claimed there is lead inside of the cups. But are the rumors true? Does Stanley actually contain lead in their cups? There has been a lot of talk about lead being in the Stanley cups. That caused people with Stanley cups to test for any trace of lead in their cups. A lot of people have also tested other cups such as Yeti and Hydro Flasks to see if they get the same results as the Stanley cups. But when the results came all of them were negative for lead – besides for Stanley cups.
According to Health.com, at the bottom of the cups there are little buttons and underneath them contain lead materials which Stanley melts to create the vacuum insulation. This fact left everyone shocked because Stanley had such a quick rise in popularity and everyone was left believing that they were safe and useful cups.
Most of the people that use Stanley are teenage girls and mothers, so it is very concerning that these people could possibly get lead poisoning. According to Stanley, it is still safe to drink out of and that it passes all of the U.S. regulations.
