A police hunt ensued in Washington, D.C. looking for a man after two women were found dead and a one year old boy was abducted. The suspect, now deceased, was Elias Huizar, a former police officer.
After two women were killed, the police were after a man who allegedly killed both women, one being his ex-wife and the other his current girlfriend. One woman was found shot outside Wisely Elementary school in West Richland, and they policed suspected Huziar, but the suspect fled before police could identify him. No one else was injured during the shooting. Later, the second victim was found deceased at her home.
The Washington Portal sent out an amber alert stating that the one year old boy was missing. Police figured out the boy and Huziar shared the same last name, but the relationship between the two wasn’t clear.
Prior to the shootings, Huziar went to court February 15th. Court documents seen by KNDU reported that he allegedly assaulted a teenager when she was sleeping in his home. The court decided to ban any contact between Elias and his child, which prompted the kidnapping.
A police chase ensued between officers and Huziar on I-5 in Oregon which resulted in Huziar taking his own life. Thankfully however, at the end of the chase, the child was found unharmed in the backseat and was taken into police custody.
