Every day on April 22nd, we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement. Earth Day raises awareness to protect the Earth. Earth Day advocates for a positive drive for our planet. Educating and diversifying the earth is extremely relevant for us. Especially being a coastal town, it is our responsibility to keep the ocean and air clean. Pollution is a problem and becoming worse as the days go by.
RiverFront Park holds an Earth Day event every year: vendors, music, food, rides, a petting zoo, etc. These events are environmentally friendly and help educate others about how to keep our planet a cleaner place. Some of the vendors that attend the event to raise money include Jersey Shore BBQ, Cool Concessions, Seashore Amusements, pony rides, and more! Every year, locals attend this event to enjoy the vendors, activities, food, and music.
The day is to spread awareness for recovering and saving our earth one day at a time. Reducing and reusing is highly promoted and very effective in making a change in our environment. This year’s theme was “Power of the Trees.”
Dennis Blazak said, “Trees lower home heating costs, reduce air pollution and provide wildlife habitat. Trees make Point Pleasant.”
From 12-4pm, Point Pleasant had a fun filled day of celebrating and raising money for our beautiful Earth.
