Secure your tickets for Point Pleasant Borough High School’s Fall play, She Kills Monsters, about Dungeons and Dragons! Dungeons and Dragons is a roleplaying game that involves storytelling, magic, and monsters. The performances will be held in the auditorium on November 20-23.
Essentially, the play follows the relationship of two sisters, Agnes and Tilly, who are complete opposites. Agnes didn’t understand how much she cared for her sister until she passed. After Tilly’s death, Agnes comes across her Dungeons and Dragons Book and magically relives her sister’s life, showing Tilly’s struggles with her hidden identity. As she walks into her sister’s shoes, she realizes it’s better to be yourself than pretend to be somebody else.
Cast members are overjoyed that this was chosen as the fall play and hope to see a full house at each show. The Point Press spoke with three cast members, Avery Jackson, Emily Peters, and Juliet Anen, and asked them why people should buy tickets to She Kills Monsters.
The first person I spoke with was Avery Jackson, who plays Agnes. She is a senior who has acted in the plays since her sophomore year. Avery recommends seeing the play because “it’s going to be really fun, teaches important life lessons, and there’s going to be monsters and dragons, so everyone should come out to see it!”
Next, I talked to Emily Peters, who plays Tilly. She is a junior who has acted in the plays since her freshman year. Emily said you should see the play because “it’s just a bunch of friends getting together to play a game and be themselves.”
The last person I spoke with was Juliet Anen, who plays Lily. She is a senior and has been involved with the plays since freshman year, however, this is her first time performing on stage. Juliet elaborated on her role in the play and gave reasoning to come to see the play by saying, “I was in stage crew my freshman, sophomore, and junior year. This year I’m on stage and playing Lily. I am so glad I made the step to audition for She Kills Monsters. This play is a blend of action, humor, and growth so come out and see me slay all the monsters in Tilly’s Dungeon and Dragons Campaign!”
You heard it here! She Kills Monsters is taking over the Point Pleasant Boro High School stage from November 20th to the 23rd. Come and see the PPBHS Performing Arts Department slay dragons in this action-filled play! Make sure to get ahold of tickets before they sell out!
