Mrs. Jensen: As another year of The Point Press draws to a close, we take a moment to say goodbye to our senior staff members. This publication is especially meaningful, as it will also be my final edition as the journalism teacher and newspaper club advisor. I hope that all of my newspaper alumni look back with pride at their published work; I will forever feel honored to have been a part of this special legacy here at Point Pleasant Borough High School. Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and creativity.

SENIOR EDITORS
Krista Ciancia, Arts & Culture Editor: It’s so hard to believe my time at Point Borough is done! It is so bittersweet to think that last year I was in journalism class with Mrs. Jensen, and now I am an editor and about to graduate. It has been such a wild ride that I wouldn’t change for the world. The thing I loved most about high school was spending time with Mrs. Jensen in English, then journalism, and now The Point Press. I am going to miss it so much. I want to thank everyone for making this year so great. Class of 2025 will miss you, Mrs. Jensen! Thank you for keeping it real. 🙂
Kayla Farquhar, Opinion & Editorial Editor: It’s mind boggling that my time in Point Pleasant Borough is almost over. It’s saddening that I’m leaving but almost enlightening to know the legacy I’ll leave behind. I have been an actress, a singer, and a student, but most importantly, a writer. Some people spend years wondering what they are going to do with their lives, but Mrs. Jensen showed me what I want to do with my life. Journalism has changed my life for the better, when I leave I will peruse a career in journalism and be immortalized through writing. Putting words to paper and watching it come to life will be my life’s work. I will miss Point Pleasant really deeply, but I am ready for the next steps of my life. I love and will miss you all. I will miss coming to class everyday and write without judgement. I’ll miss seeing my friends in class. There are many things I will miss but we all must move forward. Reach for the skies, as some people say. I will never forget this class and the people in it. Never stop writing, and never stop creating.

Holly Hernandez, Public Relations Officer: I have had the pleasure of writing for The Point Press for two years and having Mrs. Jensen for three! It has been so great! Point Boro has been so good to me. I made my best friends and I can’t wait to have them in my life forever. I’ll miss Point Boro but I am excited for the new chapter in my life! Everybody was not lying when they tell you that high school really does go by fast! Peace out Point Boro!
Melanie Mulligan, Editor-in-Chief: The last four years at Point Boro have flown by. I truly cannot believe it is almost over. Over the past four years, I have made so many amazing memories and met so many amazing people who I will never forget. I have had the privilege of being a member of The Point Press since my sophomore year, 3 years ago, which sounds crazy! I decided to take journalism because of our AMAZING advisor and teacher, Mrs. Jensen. I did not like this kind of writing at first, but after writing my very first article, I fell in love with investigative writing. Although I was not able to take the class again, I was able to come back as not only a club member but Assistant Editor-in-Chief, last year, and now for my final year as Editor-in-Chief. I am forever grateful for my experience and time writing for The Point Press. It has brought me so much joy over the last three years, and I am sad it is now coming to an end. Thank you, Mrs. Jensen, for making the last four years extremely memorable for me, especially during my time writing for The Point Press. Some advice for future editors: stay organized and make sure you take the time to write your own articles, too. By the time you know it, the school year will be over, so make the most out of it!
Aedan O’Neill, Assistant Editor: I probably didn’t get to do everything I wanted to do during high school, but that isn’t so important. I developed a lot from my freshmen year self and that’s about as much as I can ask for. Taking journalism and joining The Point Press was the first time I tried to take a bigger role in programs outside of academics, and it allowed me to connect with so many people. I got to write about what really mattered to me, and if I had the time this year I would have written so much more. I hope that people continue to be inspired to write for the press, and have fun while doing it.
SENIOR STAFF
Mia Blasi: As my high school years come to a close, one of the things I will always be thankful for is the time I spent in my journalism class. It is because of this class that writing became more of who I am. It was a space where I was able to write outside of the box, find my voice, and learned the importance of my creativity. Every moment helped me grow. I am especially grateful to Mrs. Jensen. She always believed in me and inspired me to become the writer I am today. Her guidance and encouragement meant the world to me and I cannot thank her enough for making journalism a highlight of my high school career. I will carry everything I’ve learned with me, always. I love you Mrs. Jensen.
Rye Brue: Being part of this journalism class has made such a difference! I’m really grateful for the opportunity to express myself freely, share my opinions, and grow more confident in my voice as a writer! It’s not always easy to speak up, but this class gave me a space where I felt heard and respected. A big thank you to Mrs. Jensen for creating such a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment. Your support and kindness made a huge difference, not just in how I write, but in how I believe in myself! I’ll always remember this class and the stories we got to tell!
Paul Hagemeyer: I’ve had Mrs. Jensen for three years now and I can definitely say she was one of, if not my favorite, teacher in my high school experience. Everyone likes to say their four years in high school fly by, but I kind of disagree. Do you best to try new things, find out what you want to do and who you are, and savor each and every moment (even the ones that stink). Make sure to treat every moment like it could be your last, and you’ll leave with no regrets.
Camryn Johnson: It is so hard to believe that I am about to graduate high school. Time really does go by fast! Be sure to make the most of your time here at Point Boro! It is a great community and we are so lucky to have amazing teachers like Mrs. Jensen. I will forever cherish all the memories I made and am extremely grateful for my wonderful years here. Thank you for everything Point Boro!
Jake Lytle: The past four years of high school have blown past me and I feel like I am still a freshman wandering the school I did not know. I am happy and sad that it is over as I finish another chapter of my life. I look forward to the rest of my life and the new chapters I open in it. Thank you to Mrs. Jensen for making my classes with her great, I hope she loves her new job even without us there.
Marissa Pope: I can’t believe I am a senior graduating, time has flown by so fast! I’m so grateful that I got to be a part of journalism and got so much experience with writing from this class. I will miss so many things about high school, but those memories will stay with me forever. I can’t wait to see what my next chapter will hold. It will be a tough goodbye, but I am so grateful for all the memories this year has brought me. Thank you, Point Boro!
Hannah Ricker: High school was definitely tougher than I expected, but I don’t hate the person it made me become. As much as I can’t wait to go to college and start the life I’ve been dreaming of, I’ll miss my family and living five minutes from the beach. It will definitely be a big change, but I thank Point Boro for the past four years and all the lessons it helped me learn, goals that I want to achieve, and the friendships I will keep forever.
Aubrey Scarponi: High school was such a strange experience. It felt very long but short at the same time. Although it had its ups and downs, I wouldn’t trade the last four years for anything. I’m forever grateful for the friendships I’ve made and the experience as a whole. I love writing and thought I’d enjoy journalism, so I enrolled for my first semester of senior year. I obviously couldn’t get enough, so I came back for the second semester. It was a super fun class and taught me plenty of new things about writing. Mrs. Jensen is an amazing teacher, and I’m incredibly thankful for her and this class. Thank you for everything!
Isabel Shaver: I’m so glad I had the opportunity to be apart of journalism and write articles for The Point Press! Once a panther always a Panther!
Caitlyn Shortreed: Four years ago, today felt like a lifetime ahead. Now it just feels surreal. Take a few moments throughout high school to notice how far you’ve come and how far you still have to climb. Take it all for granted, or don’t, but have fun either way. Good luck!
