The future is here; Neuralink is here.

You might be saying to yourself what is Neuralink and why is it the future? Neuralink is a project that Tesla creator Elon Musk launched in 2016 and is now starting to get more mainstream attention.

Nueralink is a company that is working to develop technology that links with our brains. Currently, they are working on a chip that would be implanted into our brains. The technology has the capacity to help many people, for one instance, by increasing intelligence. However, Neuralink will also be able to help those suffering from disabilities cause by neurological issues. For example, one goal would be to help eliminate paralysis.

Healthcare technology is advancing every day, but this has to be one of the biggest advancements in technology in our lifetime. This gadget is surgically inserted into the brain using robotics controlled by neurosurgeons. A chipset called “the link” is inserted into the brain. The chip was developed Musk, himself. The design has been tested on at least 19 different animals with robots with around an 87% success rate according to the venture’s presentation last year. 

Neuralink uses wireless technology and communication. The electrodes are thin, flexible, and can be implanted with a novel “sewing” robot, making it possible to install thousands of electrodes without disturbing brain tissue. Electrodes are a conductor for electricity through which electricity enters or leaves an object, substance, or region.

Elon Musk is considered to be one of the most intelligent and innovative people on the planet. As of now, he has led the wildly successful ventures of SpaceX, Tesla, and now Neuralink. All of these companies have made profound advancements in technology and Musk shows that he is not done yet.

This device should be out to the public within 4-8 years. If Neuralink meets the success it is predicted, Elon Musk will hit even more milestones in term of development and advancement to society. Neuralink has the potential to bring the human mind to its full capacity – who knows what limits we could surpass?
