Cooking with L: November 2022 Edition
The month of November has quite a few days off. You can sleep in and then make your family a nice breakfast. Here is some french toast to be extra thankful for this month:
Ingredients:
- 1 c milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. sugar
- 8 pcs. of Texas Toast (or any other bread)
Preheat a griddle to 350 or a skillet over medium heat. Once hot and right before you add the french toast add some butter to keep it from sticking.
Whisk all ingredients together in a shallow bowl. Quickly dip a slice of bread into batter and then place immediately on a hot griddle or frying pan.
Check doneness and then flip to the other side with a turner.
Serve with powdered sugar or pancake syrup.
*Hint* Stale bread works best! Fresh bread acts like a sponge and gives you soggy results. You may use any type of bread, such as banana bread or even leftover muffins.
Enjoy!
