“Avatar: The Way Of The Water” Movie Review

SPOILER ALERT – only read ahead if you’ve seen the film!

Who here sat for 3 hours and 12 minutes to experience the new Avatar movie? If you did, then you are most likely dying to know what will happen next and if they will make another movie. If you did not see the film be aware this article does include SPOILERS. This new movie in AMC theaters was brought out on December 16, 2022, and according to Forbes they have made, $516.8 million domestically along with $1.19 billion in international earnings, making it the seventh highest-grossing film of all time.”

This is a pretty impressive statistic and a large amount of money for such a short amount of time. So the question people are wondering is, what will come next?

This is a very new movie that continued the story of the first Avatar, which was made 14 years ago. The film was a great build-off of the first one and it is impressive how much time and effort they put into the story of Sully and his transformation to a permanent avatar. At the end of the movie, there were so many unexpected twists, like the death of Neteyam (Sully’s son) and Spider saving Quaritch from death, even though Quartich was trying to kill the Na’vi clan. This ending leaves the Director James Cameron open to explore new story lines in the sequels to follow.

In the article “Alright, So Here’s What the ‘Avatar 2: The Way of Water’ Ending Means” written by Laura Hanrahan she stated that, “we know that the third, fourth and fifth Avatar movies are on the way with the next one slated to come out in 2024…” It looks like there is so much more to come and I’m here for it!

Personally, I typically do not like movie theaters at all. It is probably my least favorite place, but I had to go to the theaters to see this movie and it actually was extremely enjoyable. This movie was totally worth going to the movie theater for and now I want to go back and see more new movies that have come out. Avatar was such an amazing film and I am excited for the third one to come out.

There were so many parts in the movie that had me at the edge of my seat, waiting to see what would happen next. Overall, I rate this move a 10/10!
