This month, the Point Boro Indoor Track team took on New Balance Nationals and the results were beyond impressive. This meet took place in Boston, Massachusetts over a four day period of March 9th through March 12th. With tons of athletes from across the country, the meet atmosphere was unmatched. This unique experience for the runners of Point Boro was the perfect way to end the indoor season as training for Spring started back up.

With Boro having a strong group of girls and boys in the track programs, it’s no surprise that they had success at nationals. Our first team of girls 4×200 was able to break the school record, while the second relay team consisting of Jordan Kelly, Jenna Kuhn, Shea Burke, and Annabella Ryan re-broke it with a time of 1:46.88.

Following these girls, the Boro boys competed in the Sprint Medley Relay with Gavin Petrosky and Jake Croce completing the 200 legs, Colin Cole running the 400, and Blaik Slavinski anchoring in the 800. Blaik even came back in the open 800 the next day, dropping an impressive time of 1:56.68. On the last day, Shea Burke returned to compete in the 60 meter hurdle race, followed by both boys 4×800 as well as girls 4×400.

Arguably one of the best performances of the meet was the relay of girls shuttle hurdles. This relay included Jordan Muraglia, Codi Damerau, Sarina Danko, and Shea Burke. These girls seem to be unstoppable and only have improved as the season progressed. Placing 4th overall allowed these girls to gain an All American title. Insane.

Overall, this national meet was a perfect conclusion to the already successful season. It’s clear that this group of athletes has proved their talent time and time again and it will be exciting to see where the outdoor season takes them.
