A few weekends ago on the night of April 29th, a huge house fire occurred after 10pm in Point Pleasant Beach. It started on the third floor of the house, as they attempted to put it out there was a reported issue with the fire hydrant. It seemed to fall apart and the hydrant disconnected from the water main. A second alarm was called for firefighters attempting to extinguish the fire that seemed to be caused by high winds from stormy weather. Lucky firefighters were able to make progress by calming the fire.

Unfortunately, the flames started to rise again and the building started to collapse causing an evaluation signal to be given. Firefighters found very heavy damage on the third floor of the building. 10 people were displaced after this tragic fire. There were no injuries reported. The fire tore through the Point Pleasant Inn on Arnold Avenue.

The brave people operating on the scene were Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company No.2, Ocean Fire Company No. 1, Point Pleasant Borough Station 75, Brielle 99-1 and other courageous stations.

As of now there is no additional information due to the fire being under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office.
