How would you feel if you were told your town was named one of the safest cities in your state and then your home was burglarized? As of September 19, there was a series of home invasions and burglaries happening in Brick, New Jersey.
Various incidents of thefts, car break-ins, and even an armed burglary were all reported. Footage of a gun toting assailant was also caught on a home surveillance system.
Several neighborhoods were hit and many reported the criminals were looking to get possession of whatever was easily attainable. One witness, Amy Devalue, told NBC New York, “They broke into my truck and his car. Well they didn’t break in. I left mine unlocked because I had just gotten home it was only 8 o’clock at night.”
Police investigators released a photo of a silver or light-blue BMW they believed the suspects to be operating at the time of the incident.
Citizens were advised to lock their doors and to keep their key fobs indoors. They are also encouraging residents to check their ring doorbells for any potential footage.
