On Thursday, October 23, 2025, Point Pleasant Borough High School Students will be attending the Homecoming dance in the high school gym. After cutting the dance off for three years, the senior class pushed to get it back for one last hoorah!

When asking seniors about their feelings about not having the dance, they respond with slight irritation due to this being the first year the dance is being held during their time at Point Pleasant Borough High School, but also with excitement. The school sent out a Google Form to the senior class in their freshman year, which many don’t recall receiving, to see if there was interest in the dance taking place. Due to the lack of interest, the dance hasn’t been held in over 3 years.
One senior, Brook Benson, expressed how, “We didn’t even get the opportunity to choose if we wanted it or not” when asked how she felt when the school didn’t put on the dance during any of her high school career. She explained how she wished we put the dance on every year, but she is “looking forward to being able to be with everybody and say that I went to the dance”.
Although the school hasn’t had a dance in 3 years, the seniors have still been decorating the hallways since freshman year. This year’s theme is City Lights. The seniors decided that since this year was their first and last actual homecoming dance, they wanted to go out with a bang. This thought was extended when choosing the Hollywood theme for their decorations.
The Hollywood theme allows the senior class to roll the credits on their last year of homecoming while also shining a light on the events that the class has to look forward to. With a gold star hanging with each senior’s name, the students of the class of 2026 are going to be forever among the stars.
