The walls of the Point Boro Wrestling room echoed with the cheers of past champions and the silent ambition of the 2025-26 squad.
The Shore Conference Wrestling legacy, which includes six District Team Titles, most recently in 2025, and Coach Pat Brady entering his 17th season, the Panthers were expected to contend once again. But with a new crop of hungry wrestlers and the lingering sting of a 46-22 sectional semifinal loss to Rumson Fair Haven in 2025.
After talking to Coach Grainer, he said, “We are excited about the core of wrestlers we have returning, as well as some incoming freshmen who are ready to compete at the Varsity level. We are definitely eager to get in the room with this group of wrestlers every day to train. If everyone on the team works hard, takes care of themselves, and follows the plan, we will put an exciting product out on the mat that will compete for championships.”
After moving into the newly realigned District 21 for the 2026 postseason, the Point Boro Wrestling team is not expected to be as dominant as they have been in recent years. The Panthers will face Christian Brothers Academy in their new district, and the team will need to adapt to this more competitive landscape.
