The 2025 World Series was considered one of the best World Series matchups of all time, with the Los Angeles Dodgers defeating the Toronto Blue Jays. The series went back and forth every game until the Dodgers finally pulled away with a win. It was the first time a road team won the World Series in game 7.
One of the games was 18 innings long, finally ended at 1:45 am with a home run from Dodger’s Freddie Freeman. The Dodgers also saved the series by a shocking double play in game 6.
Some other notable preformances from the series includes Andy Page’s amazing catch, where he practically ran over his teammate and almost dropped the ball. Will Smith hit a homer in extra innings, and Dodger’s Yoshinobu Yamamoto was name the World Series MVP.
Despite losing, Blue Jays’ shortstop, Bo Bichette, had a historic performance in the series as well as Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The post season had recorded breaking viewership, as this was the most watched with an average of 4.48 million viewers, making it the most talked about World Series in history.
As for other notable 2025 season observations:
The Padres have reached the post season four times in the past six years but never won a World Series, even with Fernando Tatis Jr’s return to the show after a wrist injury and being suspended for PED’s.
The Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox in the first round before losing to the Blue Jays in the ALDS. Aaron Judge was the best and most stand out player for the Yankees in the post season and as for the Boston Red Sox, their best player was the electric Jarren Duran.
The best post season game of the year was game 4 of the NLCS when Dodgers pitcher Shohei Ohtani had pitched 6 innings scoreless and had 10 strikeouts against the Milwaukee Brewers to advance to the World Series.
